Nadia Elena Comaneci

In the 1976 Montreal Olympic Games, the athlete became an international sensation when she scored the most perfect 10 in sport's history. She went on to achieve another perfect 10 and became the youngest Olympic all-around gold medalist, at only fourteen years of age. The accomplishment of Nadia Comaneci was not only to attract attention from all over the world, she also put Romania in the spotlight. With a score that was not possible, this sporting icon brought gymnastics into the spotlight of the world's the spotlight. The sport also altered the perception of women gymnasts. Her impact on the Olympics was so significant that two of her movements, the toe-on move and the release movement have been named in her honor. Both are rated as being high-level difficult.
